Glowing Skin Mask(For dull, tired skin )

INGREDIENTS
6 oz plain yogurt
3 drops of chamomile oil (or infuse chamomile flowers or a chamomile tea bag with half and half and let cool)
3 drops of verbena oil (or infuse verbena flowers with half and half and let cool)

DIRECTIONS
Combine the yogurt with the chamomile and verbena oils or infused mixtures.
Apply to face and let sit for approximately ten minutes.
Rinse off, tone and moisturize.
For a thicker mask, add two teaspoons of talcum powder.

Oily Skin Treatment Mask

INGREDIENTS
6 oz plain yogurt
2 drops of thyme oil
2 drops of mint oil
Juice from 1 lemon
½ packet of yeast
2 Tbsp of starch from potatoes (let potatoes sit in water for several hours; use 2 Tbsp of the milky water)

DIRECTIONS
Combine ingredients in food processor.
Apply to entire face paying particular attention to pimples and blackheads. Leave the mask on for ten to twenty minutes. Rinse.

¼ cup of Quinoa Cereal cooked in soy milk
2 drops of Mimosa oil
2 egg yolks

DIRECTIONS
Cook Quinoa in soy milk and let cool. Combine all ingredients in a blender and apply to your face and neck. Leave the mask on for ten to twenty minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Note: Do not cook Quinoa in sugar. Sugar promotes wrinkles.

Mix all ingredients. Apply to face and leave on for ten minutes. You may begin to feel your face tingling. Don’t worry that’s just the rose petals doing their work. Remember to avoid the area around your eyes. Rinse.

2 tsp beeswax or honey

DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients. Apply a thin layer to face. The honey will help the mask stay on the face long enough for the oatmeal to do its magic.
For optimum results keep the mask on for at least 20 minutes.

Chop the carrot, peach, and cucumber into small pieces. Place in food processor and mix into a paste. Don’t worry if it’s a little runny. Apply and let sit on the skin for 10 minutes. Rinse.

Review: I used this on top of my BIOessence Tanaka whitening essence & ecurine's Pimple concealer cream. It stayed well for 5 hrs, shine all over but i can still see the coverage of the BB Cream. With the shine only about 20 % of the coverage was jone.

Day 2 using abit more & just the BB cream alone as skincare & foundation. The coverage is not bad, around 7/10 nearly equal to foundation. But still 90% coverage 4 hrs after use. Shine has appeared as well. I can still see my pimple scars -Perhaps i should use more product tomorrow to find out.

I suppose it will be better with loose powder on top of this.

Day 3 used more BB cream with a YSL MAttifying Liquid foundation.
SHine by noon time. But by the end of the day I still have the Made up look. Lose about 20-30% of the coverage. (usually by the end of the day i would look like i didnt apply makeup)
Shine maintained by the end of the day - didnt get oilier. Comfortable shine.

Day 4 BB Cream with a moisturiser & YSL mattifying liquid Foundation & loose powder.

SHine same by noon time

Can still see pimple & pimple scars if standing near.

OPK/HPT help & reads

From what i learn

If your CD around 30 days - you should expect to O around 15 right, test Opks from CD10-20.
Continue until u get a positive. < ---important

Why start so early CD 10 - cos if u dont u wont know what's the difference between a positive & negative opk as well.

How to spot an Ovulation with OPKS: if the test line (there is a control line as well) is faint its negative.

Only when its same colour as test line or darker then its a positive Ovulation. When u test Positive on OPK you will Ovulate around 12-24 hrs or later. So BD within 12-24 hrs & again alternate.

Something i read from Fertility friend, treat the next 5 days after u see a positive on your Opk as FERTILE & BD alternate days (cos everyday sperm quality will decrease - tired also mah) Why continue till u get an O.

I Oed CD15-16 in Feb, Then in March I Oed CD 20-21. So its possible for Ovulation dates to change. If you followed instructions strictly 10 strips a mth you will lose your O opportunity & one cycle will be gone.

Why these strips?
I dont know if they are the most reliable ones in the market but most of us use it. Many have striked with them & many have found their Ovulation dates with them & since you want to be KS & monitor maybe even every day & nite. These 40-50cents strips makes sense over the , over the counter ones that costs $10-13/strip.


BBT Thermometor
I recommend u get one too cos - double confirmation is better to find your Ovulation.

Usually BBT is LOWEST when you are Ovulating. Cos OPK can show positive for 2 days. what if u forgot to test day 1 & test day 2 then if u take BBT faithfully - u still know U Oing.

Similarily if you Ran out of OPKS for eg & enough only to test once a day - with the BBT you can also accurately tell when u Ovulated.

The idea is egg lasts 24 hrs Sperm lasts around 72 hrs. its best to Baby Dance (BD) when you are actually Oing thus the emphasis on the O date.

Further tips:-
Hope that is enough help to start u on. usually 30 day cycle i would myself start testing on day 10 to form a chart with fertility friend so that i can monitor. if u confident surely after 14 then you Ovulate you can start OPKs 1-2 days before that lor.

If your O dont come with LOW BBT & u monitor basal body temp as well, then hor - continue OPK maybe O was late & Opk gave wrong reading - due to medication or what ever.

to be KS BD 12-24 hrs after OPK is positive + BBT is lowest. If you only see OPK +, continue OPK & BBT when u see + opk & low BBT again BD.

Home Made Scrubs

I do home made scrubs - try a little say sugar or salt with your fav shower gel - if you dont smell or feel some huge chemical reaction on your hands - make a 500gm pot of this say

400gm sugar or salt
100gm shower gel

Use salt of sugar as you please - salt has antiseptic properties & use coarse suagr of salt progressively form the fine kind as you wish for more exfoliation action. the mixture is not a hard & fast 4:1 - its really up to you.

My slimming scrub: ( I took this idea from US magazines - Celebs do it too even with rolling pins for extra anti cellulite function)
coffee for brewing - get those really cheap ones SGD $3+/500gm kind

mix abit at a time or all at once
250gm coffee powder
100gm sugar fine or course
mix some in a plastic bowl/container with just abit of water & massage into wet skin,
Massage helps circulation, Coffee & sugar particles help exfoliation.circulation
Caffeine helps prevents cellulite - aids fat burning (alternative to caffeine slimming pills)
Sugar helps to mask - draw out impurities from the skin
Leave on if you can for about 5 mins - shower off - finish off with shower gel or soap as you wish.

REMEMBER to shower off with soap/shower gel & rinse your shower walls or bath properly to avoid feeding the ants!

Water Parade!

As drinks with caffeine are duretics. I have decided to still drink coffee but to make it a smaller cup instead. For health sake.

How do you count water consumption per day? You need 1.5-2 litres a day roughly.

Total is 2.2L, or 600ml

Its 600ml - Coffee & iced lemon tea should be minus once u drink a cup of coffee say 300ml immed its a minus 300ml to your day's quota. Didnt know that right? Trival i found but big difference on our health knowing this.

My Review:

After Confinement month. Usually weight loss here is very fast as its alot of water loss after birth nearly 1-2 kg a week loss. BUt then in mth 2 wt loss stagnated weeks 4-6.
I started take 3 times a day 2 weeks, in the 3rd week i start lost 2 kg. Continued this 3 times a day for weeks 6 - 12, (3rd mth end of maternity leave i went back to work earlier) Continued on & off 1 time every 2 days or so - in 5th mth after deliver i regained my pre pregnancy weight.
I was 81kg before I got pregnant,
101 at full term,
94kg after delivery
around 89 after Confinement mth.
Lost 8 kgs in about 4 mths.

Please note I believe post delivery weight loss usually is quite fast especially taking into consideration I also Breast feed totally week 3 onwards. But i know i Continued to eat alot -else the weight loss in totality could have been greater.

Extra Tips: You can Vary the honey & the ACV to more each time or less each time 1 time a day or 3 times a day.

DIY Fragrance POuches

Ingredients:

Rough paper (get those from the fax machines printed with advertisments discarded)

Fold it into a fashion you that & tape up with scotch tape - fill up with any baby powder or fragranced powders you like & seal with tape. Stash them in your cupboards, wardrobes, drawers, car & even your handbag.

As a simple gift you might want to use pretty paper - wrapping paper leftovers, pretty envelopes you cannot resist to keep can come in good use here.

Why is this simple & good:-1) powders are usually used on the body therefore quite safe, especially (i have 2 pregnant colleagues) - thus this was great as it did not cause them nausea & safe unlike moth balls - there was some report stating that moth balls in wardrobes can emit some chemical fumes which is bad for an airconditioned room - especially the bed room as the air not so 'fresh'

2) Powders absorb moisture somewhat - slight.

3) cheap & easy to make, toss after 1 mth or so. J & J lavendar baby powder is my favourite, its about SGD$5.50 or less for 2-500g bottles. so its much cheaper than other fragrances which can be too empowering - especially for headache & migraine sufferers who get fragrance triggers.

Asprin masking aka BHA & some home made masks

Beginners
Use one tablet 1st mix with drops of water in palm enough to make a paste & massage into wet – cleansed face leave on for about 1-2 mins rinse off.
If you don’t see redness or allergic reactions withing 2 days you can proceed to normal use.

Normal use
Use about 3-4 tables again make paste & put only face like a mask up to 5 mins.

Advanced user
Use up to 8 tablets mixed with water, moistuirser or see the thread some use yougurt but I personally have not tried.

Caution & notes:Redness or pinkness could be normal to some people if you have left it on for too long as the mask is essentially BHA which is fat soluble & penetrates the skin better to exfoliate or layman terms cleanse the shaft of the pore.
Its like being able to reach into your pore & clean it – on this mild basis cleansing from within will clear oil clots that will help in controlling oiliness, blackheads, white heads & pimples. But in the same line – initial breaking out might occur as the BHA is doing an initial cleansing routine so do not be alarmed.

Allergy note: There are some people are who allergic to BHA if you are sensitive try on the back of your neck the 1st time for allergy test if possible. I personally use Disprin 24 pcs is SG$3+ I remember at Unity Pharmacies, the 96pc pack is more worth at about SG$6+ but only if you are happy with the results then get the bigger pack.
